55-year-old Renée Zellweger was captured having a very cute moment with her young co-star Leo Woodall at Borough Market filming the latest Bridget Jones film.
The 55-year-old actress, who has taken up the iconic movie role for the fourth time in “Mad About The Boy,” is working in the British capital. In a plot twist in the new movie, Bridget is caught up in a whirlwind romance with a younger man, essayed by rising star Leo Woodall, 27, who appeared in the film “One Day.”
As they shot a night scene, Renée and Leo walked past Bridget’s famous flat where most of the character’s early adventures had taken place. Going back to those same streets where Bridget’s two romantic interests—Mark Darcy and Daniel Cleaver—had classily duked it out in the first film felt very nostalgic.
New changes are in store for Bridget. She was found ditching the single-life apartment for a family house in Hampstead, North London. Renée seemed in a jolly good mood while shooting and was chitchatting with co-star Leo in between the takes. On the sets, she was dressed up in a floral frock along with a pink cardigan and a denim jacket to make her look casual yet chic. Hairs pulled back in a simple ponytail tied her look together with minimal makeup. Coming for a laid back feel, Leo wore yellow and dark jeans with a green collared shirt.
“Mad About the Boy” is a book by Helen Fielding, which the movie adaptation focuses on Bridget as she copes with single motherhood after the tragic death of her husband Mark Darcy, who was previously played by Colin Firth. Although Mark dies in the film, reports are that there will be a really small cameo by Firth but the details have been scarce.
Audiences will literally shudder through time to relive this romantic escapade with Bridget in the new movie. She comes into the path of two rather different suitors: one is Leo, a rock star, while the other is her son’s PE teacher, played by none other than Chiwetel Ejiofor. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the film, which will hit the screens on Valentine’s Day, to see just what happens next with these relationships and to find out whether the reappearance of Mark Darcy brings hope and not a whole lot of heartache.
“Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” promises to be just as funny, touching, and surprising as the first two’s entries, with Academy Award-winner Renée Zellweger poised to reprise her identification-with-charm role on the big screen.
