Known primarily for her sense of style and ruling the catwalk, Kendall Jenner opened up about personal difficulties in an interview, shining a light onto areas far from the fame game. The supermodel told Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain that getting famous over the years has been coupled with huge emotional hurdles.
Jenner admitted she had even “hysterically cried” herself to sleep sometimes. While she shared her good fortune, she wasn’t afraid to speak about the downside of her career. “I’ve had my share of struggles, whether that’s been being overworked or not getting a job that I really want,” she said. She shared that she felt so alone most of the time and often missed important times with her family, which led her to sometimes question whether such a stressful life was worth it.
Jenner has also spoken about the urge to be a mother, telling Vogue that she would like to have children over the next ten years. She painted the picture of an ideal life down the road when she could balance life in the public eye with family. Jenner is now in a relationship with musician Bad Bunny, but she says it is supermodel Christy Turlington whom she considers to be the ultimate idol of sorts. She spoke about how Turlington is in her career but still maintains very meaningful personal relationships.
Reflecting on the influence Turlington had on her, Jenner noted, “She seemed so calm and collected. Her life outside modeling and her family were really important to her. Relationships mean so much to me, and I can’t wait to have a life with someone one day, to have kids, to create a family.”
Despite obstacles like these, Jenner is still optimistic regarding her future, and she has desires to lead a life like Turlington’s—equalizing her career and family life.
