Ryan Reynolds Shares Response As Jamie Lee Curtis Apologies Over Recent Marvel Comments

Ryan Reynolds has now shared a response after Jamie Lee Curtis apologized on social media for her comments about Marvel.

August 1, Curtis posted an apology for her remarks: “I’ll do better. My comments about Marvel were stupid. I am so grateful to be part of the MCU.” The apology came after she and her Borderlands co-stars were quizzed on what phase of Marvel is it that they are living in during an MTV interview, with Curtis responding: “Bad” as she tried not to laugh.

In her tweet, Curtis referred to a time she had connected with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and vowed never to become embroiled in internet energies. She further vowed never to be a part of the promotional techniques designed to generate click at the expense of substantive content.
Ryan Reynolds on the other hand ended with a dash of comic levity by quote-tweeting Curtis apology in jest, “Wait, is everyone expected to apologize for slamming Marvel post-Endgame ?”

This wouldn’t be the first time Curtis criticized Marvel. All the way back in 2022, when promoting Everything Everywhere All At Once, she took a dig at Marvel on Instagram. She pointed out how the movie was poignant and had spectacular visual effects, so different from movies that had a much higher budget than Marvel’s Doctor Strange.

Elsewhere, Lindsay Lohan revealed back in February that she and Curtis are on board for Freaky Friday 2, but a release date remains under wraps.
In a three-star review of Deadpool & Wolverine, NME’s Paul Bradshaw mused upon the future of the MCU, speculating that with its multiverse plotlines, it could – technically – go on forever.
