Leny Yoro Out for Three Months: Another Injury Setback Manchester United

Oh no! Leny Yoro will be out for three whole months because of a fractured foot. That’s really tough news! Meanwhile, Rasmus Hojlund is also sidelined for about six weeks due to a hamstring injury. These injuries certainly make things more challenging for Manchester United as they gear up for the new season.

Both of these players got hurt during Saturday’s 2-1 loss against Arsenal at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Los Angeles County. Yoro is just 18 years old and recently joined the team with a big £52 million transfer, beating Real Madrid in the race. His long absence might mean that the club has to keep Harry Maguire or Victor Lindelof around for some defensive support.

As for Hojlund, who is 21, he was Erik ten Hag’s top choice as a No. 9. He even scored an amazing solo goal before having to leave the game against Arsenal. Now, it looks like Joshua Zirkzee, a 22-year-old striker who joined from Bologna for £35.3 million, will fill in for him. Zirkzee has been training at United’s Carrington after he couldn’t come along on the US summer tour because he was busy with Euro 2024.

Yoro had just signed from Lille only two weeks ago! He was playing his second match and showed some real talent in his debut. Unfortunately, he went down in the 34th minute and needed help before he could leave the field.

This is quite a hurdle for Erik ten Hag, who really wants to do better than last season when they finished an underwhelming eighth in the Premier League. Last year, United faced a whopping 66 injuries! Ten Hag had already hinted that they might run into similar issues this time due to the players’ heavy workloads.

The club hasn’t shared any comments yet, but it looks like Ten Hag will talk about these injuries when he speaks publicly on Thursday. Fingers crossed for a swift recovery!
