Sam Fender is set to electrify the Brit Awards 2025 stage next weekend, joining an exciting lineup of performers at one of the biggest nights in British music.
Returning to London’s O2 Arena on March 1, this year’s ceremony will be hosted by Jack Whitehall, promising a night of unforgettable moments and top-tier entertainment. Among the artists vying for major awards are Charli XCX, Raye, Dua Lipa, and even The Beatles, making this year’s event one of the most anticipated in recent history.
Fender, who has built a reputation as one of the UK’s most dynamic live performers, will take the stage just days after the release of his highly awaited third album, People Watching, set to drop this Friday. His previous albums, Hypersonic Missiles (2019) and Seventeen Going Under (2021), both soared to the top of the charts, and he’s aiming for a similar triumph with his latest project.
Sharing his enthusiasm ahead of the performance, Fender—who is also a strong contender for a Glastonbury headline slot—said, “Me and the band are so excited to perform at The Brit Awards this year – we can’t wait to get up on that stage again!”
A teaser on the official Brit Awards Instagram page hinted at an emotional and powerful performance from the singer-songwriter, known for his anthemic stadium-ready sound and deeply personal lyrics.
The final performer added to the lineup is Lola Young, an artist who has been making waves on social media with her viral hit Messy. At just 24, she has already cemented herself as one of the most promising voices in the industry.
Expressing her excitement, Young shared, “I am super excited and grateful to be performing at The Brit Awards this year. It’s a dream come true and an absolute honour to share this moment alongside so many incredible artists. To be nominated is a huge achievement for me and I’m so thankful for all the support I’ve received.”
Alongside Fender and Young, the Brits stage will also welcome performances from Jade Thirlwall, Myles Smith, Sabrina Carpenter, Shaboozey, Teddy Swims, and The Last Dinner Party, making for a star-studded night of music.
Fender’s 2025 schedule is shaping up to be a whirlwind, with a major summer tour planned in support of his new album. The tour includes three massive shows at St James’ Park in Newcastle, as well as a highly anticipated performance at London Stadium in June.
In addition to these dates, he has lined up a series of outdoor shows, fueling speculation that he could be one of the headliners at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. Observant fans have pointed out a conspicuous gap in his tour schedule that coincides with Glastonbury weekend, sparking excitement about a potential announcement.
Last year, Fender treated his audience to a preview of People Watching with the release of two singles, People Watching and Nostalgia’s Lie, both of which will feature on the upcoming album.
Discussing the creative process behind his latest work, the musician reflected on the three-year gap since his last album, explaining why he took his time crafting People Watching.
“The third one we started rushing and I thought, ‘No, we have got to take the time,’” he revealed in an interview on Sky Arts’ Johnson and Knopfler’s Music Legends.
“I want to do the best I possibly can. I’d rather it be late and great than early and s**e.”*
With the Brit Awards just around the corner, anticipation is at an all-time high. The event, set to be broadcast live on ITV, will bring together the biggest names in music for a night of celebration, performances, and unexpected moments.
