Journey Cancels UK and Ireland Tour Amid Legal Disputes

Journey has cancelled its upcoming UK and Ireland tour. It was set to kick off on October 30 at Cardiff, Wales’ Utilita Arena, with Cheap Trick as the supporting act. This news came through in the email to ticket holders where it said, “Due to circumstances beyond the band’s control, Journey’s UK and Ireland tour is unfortunately cancelled. Refunds will be made from your point of purchase.”

This is just after another blow concerning legal action between the band members; Jonathan Cain, the keyboardist, and Neal Schon, the guitarist. Cain had filed a lawsuit against Schon, citing financial mismanagement. The court filings in Delaware on July 30 call for the appointment of a third director to their Freedom 2020 company that may hopefully help with the financial dispute.

In an interview with Classic Rock in 2022, Cain – speaking about the band’s long history – said, “There’s always going to be bumps in the road. No forty-year relationship is ever not going to have them.”

Meanwhile, as was previously planned, Journey will tour the US with Def Leppard, and tickets for its upcoming shows in Japan are still available.
