ABOUT
Yasmin Atwal is a freshman at a university in Boston and a youth leader recognized for her work in advocacy, education, and community service. An animal lover, award-winning equestrian, vocalist, and TEDx speaker, she has been actively engaged in leadership and service from a young age. At 13, she founded Covid Kids Canada, a nonprofit initiative that provided free online mental health guidance and support to hundreds of children during the COVID-19 pandemic. She is also the co-founder of Women STEM Mentorship, an organization focused on addressing gender disparities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by providing girls and women with mentorship, resources, and practical tools to succeed in traditionally male-dominated fields.
Atwal is the creator and host of Yasmin’s Legal Lounge, a youth-focused YouTube platform that explores legal, ethical, and social justice issues such as cyberbullying, youth rights, healthcare navigation, civic responsibility, and international justice. She is also the author of The Human Code: Law Through Our Eyes, a book examining global challenges including inequality, conflict, human rights, and climate justice through a youth-centered lens. An organizer and speaker at the World Youth Sustainability Summit, she works to unite young leaders and experts to address environmental challenges on a global scale. Atwal serves as a World Peace Ambassador, is president of Youthful Lawyers at Suffolk University (Massachusetts Chapter, 2025), and is a certified Human Rights Consultant from the U.S. Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights. Her philanthropic work includes fundraising and donations supporting music therapy, disability access, senior care, and global education initiatives. Her achievements have been recognized with numerous honors, including Top 20 Under 20 for Global Impact (2025), multiple international leadership awards, national academic distinctions, and several equestrian and service-based recognitions.
