In the first book of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, by J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter is invited to attend the prestigious Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. However, his relatives, the Dursleys, refuse to let him go. The Dursleys are a family of Muggles, or non-magical people, and they are terrified of the magical world.

The Dursleys are so scared of magic that they go to great lengths to keep Harry away from Hogwarts. They try to hide the letters from Hogwarts that are sent to Harry, and they even go so far as to lock him in his room to keep him from receiving any more. They also forbid him from talking about magic or anything related to it.

Despite the Dursleys’ efforts, Harry is eventually able to attend Hogwarts. He is rescued by Hagrid, the Hogwarts gamekeeper, who takes him to Diagon Alley to purchase his school supplies. From there, he is taken to the Hogwarts Express by Hagrid, where he meets Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, two of his future best friends.

The Dursleys’ fear of magic is understandable, as they are not used to it and do not understand it. However, their attempts to keep Harry away from Hogwarts are ultimately unsuccessful. Harry is able to attend the school and embark on a magical journey that will shape the rest of his life.
