A recent report has found that Google Assistant is smarter than Alexa when it comes to answering questions.

The report, which was conducted by Stone Temple Consulting, tested the two voice assistants on over 5,000 questions. It found that Google Assistant attempted to answer nearly 70 percent of the questions it was asked and responded correctly nearly 90 percent of the time. Alexa attempted a little over 50 percent of the questions and answered correctly just over 80 percent of the time.

Google Assistant was found to be better at understanding natural language and complex questions, as well as providing more detailed answers. For example, when asked “What is the capital of Canada?” Google Assistant correctly answered “Ottawa”, while Alexa only provided a list of Canadian cities.

Google Assistant was also found to be better at providing accurate information from sources such as Wikipedia and Google search. For example, when asked “What is the population of India?” Google Assistant correctly answered “1.3 billion”, while Alexa provided an incorrect answer of “1.2 billion”.

The report also found that Google Assistant was better at understanding follow-up questions and providing accurate answers. For example, when asked “What is the capital of Canada?” and then “What is the population?” Google Assistant correctly answered “Ottawa” and “1.3 million”, while Alexa only provided a list of Canadian cities for the first question and an incorrect answer of “1.2 million” for the second.

Overall, the report found that Google Assistant is smarter than Alexa when it comes to answering questions. Google Assistant was found to be better at understanding natural language, providing more detailed answers, and providing accurate information from sources such as Wikipedia and Google search.
