Geordie Shore star Holly Hagan has shared heartbreaking news about the death of her younger sister Darci, who passed away at just 19 years old.
Holly announced the tragedy on social media, describing herself as “traumatised in every sense of the word.” While she did not disclose the cause of death, she asked for privacy as her family comes to terms with the devastating loss.
Greater Manchester Police later released a statement confirming that Darci had fallen seriously ill after reportedly taking drugs.
The statement read:
“On Sunday, 19 October 2025, we were called by hospital staff to the concern for welfare of a 19-year-old woman who had fallen seriously ill after it is believed she had taken drugs. Sadly, the woman died in hospital yesterday evening (20/10/2025).
Our thoughts remain with her family at this difficult time. Enquiries are ongoing.”
Holly confirmed her sister’s passing in an emotional tribute, writing:
“Darci passed away peacefully holding my hand, surrounded by family and her best friends. The last four days have been something I hope no family ever has to go through. We are traumatised in every sense of the word.”
She pleaded with the media to avoid speculation, adding:
“Please refrain from writing stories that could further traumatise my family. They don’t deserve that. I chose this job—they did not.”
Holly went on to express her gratitude to the emergency services and hospital staff at Manchester Royal Infirmary for doing everything possible to help her sister.
“Because of you all, we had the chance to hold her hand, stroke her hair, and feel her heart beating for the last time. We’ll forever be grateful for how you cared for her and for us during this unimaginable time.”
The TV star also shared a heartfelt glimpse into her sister’s personality, describing her as “so beautiful” and full of life.
“She lived in her own little Darci world — forgetting to turn lights off, leaving the freezer open, not knowing how to lock doors after a night out,” Holly wrote. “She was the best aunty. Alpha-Jax adored her. She spent his whole birthday on the bouncy castle — a memory I’ll cherish forever.”
Holly added that Darci had aspired to go into social work after discovering a passion for helping children.
“I know she’s looking after all the babies up there. She’s our guardian angel now. We love you so much, baby girl. Forever 19.”
