Bodil Elisabeth Valero has been awarded Lifetime Achievement Award at the Influencer Magazine Awards (E3) on October 25, 2026. Her career spans local and regional government, the Swedish and European Parliaments, and international Green leadership. Across these roles, her work on migration, human rights, environmental issues and security provides the foundation for this recognition of sustained political service.
A lawyer specialising in migration and environmental legislation, Valero brought those fields into a political career encompassing energy and climate, alongside responsibilities as a Swedish Greens spokesperson on migration, foreign affairs, cooperation, security and arms export controls. In the European Parliament, her work included security and defence, arms control, human and minority rights, and migration. Her responsibilities as rapporteur for the Rights and Values Programme and on arms exports reflect the connection between her legal background and her parliamentary focus on rights and security.
That work extends beyond parliamentary office. Valero became Co-Convener of the Global Greens in October 2023, following involvement in the Swedish Greens delegation to the European Green Party and the Global Greens Coordination. She has served as Global Chair of the G100 Security and Defence Wing since the network’s start and held the presidency of the network as a whole in 2025. She is also a co-founder and board member of the African European Parliamentarians Initiative and was President of Forum Syd, an umbrella organisation for development NGOs in Sweden, from 2010 to 2013.
The breadth and continuity of these responsibilities distinguish Valero’s lifetime of work: from municipal environmental and planning committees to parliamentary scrutiny of arms exports and leadership in international networks. Together, they connect local public service with sustained engagement in rights, cooperation and security. Congratulations to Bodil Elisabeth Valero on receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award.
