Apple is reportedly preparing to introduce a new smart home control centre called HomeView, designed to bring connected devices and essential smart home functions together in one place. According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the device will feature a display powered by Apple’s A18 chip, with Siri expected to serve as the primary way users interact with the system.

The HomeView is expected to prioritise voice commands while retaining touchscreen functionality for additional control. Unlike an iPad, the device reportedly will not include an App Store or support the installation of third-party apps, instead offering a limited selection of Apple applications. The approach suggests that Apple is positioning HomeView primarily as a dedicated hub for managing smart home devices rather than as a general-purpose tablet.

According to the report, Apple plans to offer two versions of the HomeView: a countertop model with a metal speaker base and a wall-mounted edition with a flatter design. The countertop version is expected to come in Space Gray, Silver, Starlight and Pink, while the wall-mounted variant will reportedly be available in Space Gray and Silver. Although the device is not expected to ship alongside Apple’s anticipated October smart home announcements, its release is reportedly planned for mid-November 2026.
