Jennifer Aniston’s Multi-Million Real Estate Portfolio: A Look at Her Luxurious Homes and Serene Retreats

Jennifer Aniston has built an impressive real estate portfolio alongside her decades-long career in Hollywood. Best known for her roles in Friends, The Morning Show, We’re the Millers, and Murder Mystery, the actress has invested in a series of distinctive properties across Los Angeles and Montecito. Her homes reflect more than celebrity wealth. They also reveal her long-standing interest in interior design, privacy, comfort, and creating peaceful spaces away from the pressures of public life.

At 57, Aniston has become known for choosing homes that feel personal rather than simply extravagant. Over the years, she has bought, rented, renovated, and eventually moved on from several properties, often giving each space its own character. Her approach to real estate appears closely connected to her appreciation for design and architecture. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, she said, “I love putting homes together and creating spaces,” before explaining, “I can walk into a house and see what it needs. And it’s a fun process. Some people dread it. It can break up relationships. I thrive during that process.”

That interest is visible throughout the properties associated with the actress. Instead of relying solely on enormous spaces or flashy features, Aniston has often favored carefully designed interiors, gardens, natural surroundings, and comfortable areas where she can unwind. Her property history also offers an interesting glimpse into how her lifestyle changed as her career and personal circumstances evolved.

One of Jennifer Aniston’s earlier major property purchases came in West Hollywood in 1995, around the period when Friends had begun establishing her as one of television’s biggest stars. She reportedly purchased the approximately 2,903-square-foot residence for $742,500. The property included two bedrooms and three bathrooms and later became associated with her professional life as well as her personal space.

The West Hollywood home also had a connection to another Hollywood couple. During the mid-2000s, actress Isla Fisher and her then-husband, Sacha Baron Cohen, reportedly leased the property. Although considerably smaller than some of Aniston’s later estates, the house represents an important stage in her rise to fame and the beginning of her long relationship with high-end Los Angeles real estate.

Her most famous property chapter came during her marriage to Brad Pitt. In 2001, the couple purchased a grand French Normandy-style residence in Beverly Hills for approximately $12.1 million. The property, originally constructed in 1934, reportedly covered around 12,000 square feet and contained five bedrooms and twelve bathrooms.

The Beverly Hills home was designed to provide the kind of privacy and entertainment facilities expected from a major Hollywood residence. Its features reportedly included a private screening room, heated kitchen floors, a pub-style room with wood flooring, a large dining room capable of accommodating around 20 guests, a tennis court, and a separate guest house. The property became closely associated with the couple during their highly publicized marriage.

After Aniston and Pitt divorced in 2005, the Beverly Hills residence eventually changed hands. The property was sold in 2006 for approximately $28 million, marking the end of one of the most recognizable chapters in Aniston’s real estate history. The significant difference between its purchase and sale prices also illustrates how valuable luxury properties in sought-after Los Angeles neighborhoods can become over time.

Following her separation from Pitt, Aniston spent time in a Malibu rental overlooking the California coast. The approximately 1,531-square-foot property was considerably more modest than the Beverly Hills estate, but it offered something that seemed particularly important during that period: privacy and a peaceful environment.

The Malibu home reportedly had three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Aniston transformed the property from what she described as a “dark and depressive” space into something warmer and more inviting. The change highlights an aspect of her approach to interiors that has remained consistent over the years. Rather than simply choosing an expensive property, she appears to enjoy shaping the atmosphere of a home and making it feel comfortable and restorative.

Her next major purchase brought her back to Los Angeles. In 2012, Aniston reportedly acquired an approximately 8,500-square-foot mansion for $21 million. The residence became one of the most significant properties associated with her and eventually served as her primary home.

The Los Angeles estate combined contemporary design with carefully considered decorative details. Silk rugs, hand-painted wallpaper, landscaped gardens, a swimming pool, and a separate guest house were among the features associated with the property. Rather than creating a home that felt overly formal, Aniston reportedly emphasized interconnected indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing the gardens and living areas to work together.

The residence also became part of Aniston’s personal history when she married Justin Theroux. The couple reportedly exchanged vows at the property in 2015 in front of approximately 70 guests. Although their marriage later ended, Aniston continued to use the Los Angeles mansion as her primary residence.

The property has also experienced moments of unwanted attention. At one point, a man crashed his car into the gates of the estate, raising concerns about security and privacy. For a celebrity of Aniston’s profile, such incidents demonstrate why security, controlled access, and secluded outdoor spaces can be just as important as architectural beauty when selecting a home.

Inside and around the residence, the design reportedly focuses on calm, understated luxury. Wicker seating, plush cushions, pocket gardens, and connected outdoor rooms contribute to an environment designed for relaxation. The overall effect is less about displaying wealth and more about creating a private retreat within Los Angeles.

Aniston expanded her property portfolio again in 2022 when she purchased a Mediterranean-style estate in Montecito from Oprah Winfrey for approximately $14.8 million. Montecito has become particularly attractive to celebrities seeking a quieter alternative to Los Angeles, offering expansive properties, scenic landscapes, and greater privacy.

The Montecito property was originally built in 1998 and reportedly covers around 4,320 square feet. It features four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, along with terraces and a long driveway bordered by mature oak trees. Its setting provides views across the surrounding mountains and toward the ocean, giving the property a distinctly tranquil character.
