Bronwen Sciortino is not your typical wellness expert. She’s not here to sell you another impossible morning routine or a 10-step plan to hack your productivity. After fifteen years of deep immersion in health, human behaviour, neuroscience, psychology, leadership and wellbeing, she’s arrived at a surprisingly simple conclusion: most of us aren’t failing because we’re lazy or undisciplined. We’re struggling because we’ve been taught to live in ways that ignore how we’re naturally designed to think, feel, work and lead.

Through her books, keynote speaking, consulting, coaching and workplace programs, Bronwen is on a mission to help high-performing women reclaim themselves before success costs them the very life they’re working so hard to create. Her “Reclaim YOU” movement and “Lead from Wellness” philosophy are built on a radical belief: life was never meant to feel this hard.

In this interview, Bronwen shares her journey from corporate high-achiever to revolutionary wellbeing expert, the values that guide her work, and why she believes the smallest choices often create the biggest change.

How did you get into what you do? What does your business offer, and what makes it unique? What impact are you trying to create, and what are you most proud of so far?

Bronwen Sciortino:
If I had to pinpoint the moment that changed the direction of my life, it wasn’t a dramatic event. It was a quiet thought that kept surfacing, no matter how busy life became.

There has to be an easier way.

At the time, I was doing everything I believed I was supposed to do. I was working hard, saying yes to every opportunity and pushing myself to achieve more. From the outside, life looked successful. But underneath it all, I was tired. Not just physically tired, but tired of feeling like I was constantly chasing a finish line that kept moving.

The harder I worked, the more I wondered why life felt so difficult. Surely success wasn’t meant to come at the expense of our health, our relationships or our happiness. Surely there had to be another way to live.

That question changed everything.

Instead of accepting that stress, overwhelm and exhaustion were simply part of being successful, I became curious. I immersed myself in the science of health, wellbeing, leadership and human behaviour, trying to understand why so many of us were working so hard yet feeling so disconnected from ourselves.

What I discovered was surprisingly simple. We don’t need more pressure. We don’t need another impossible routine or another list of things we should be doing. We simply need to stop making life harder than it needs to be.

That belief became the foundation of my business.

Today, through my books, keynote speaking, consulting and leadership programs, I help people create healthier, happier and more sustainable lives. I help leaders build workplaces where wellbeing and performance support each other, not compete with each other. And I help people realise that success should be something we enjoy—not something we simply survive.

What makes my work different is that I don’t start with a formula. I start with the person sitting in front of me. Every life is different. Every challenge is different. My role isn’t to tell people how they should live. It’s to help them strip away the noise, reconnect with what matters and create a way of living that genuinely works for them.

The impact I’m trying to create is bigger than helping people feel less overwhelmed. I want us to change the way we think about success. Imagine if we stopped admiring exhaustion and started admiring lives that were healthy, balanced and deeply fulfilling. I think we’d build stronger families, better workplaces and more connected communities.

When people ask what I’m most proud of, my answer is always the same. It’s not the books I’ve written or the stages I’ve spoken on. It’s hearing someone say, “I finally feel like myself again.”

Because that’s what this work has always been about – helping people discover that there really is an easier way.

What Drives Your Mission & Vision? What core values or beliefs guide the way you run your business? How do you approach challenges, growth, and innovation—and what keeps you motivated when things get tough?

Bronwen Sciortino:
Everything I do is guided by one simple belief: life should feel better than this.

Not perfect. Not easy every day. But better than constantly feeling rushed, overwhelmed or like you’re surviving your own success.

That’s what drives me.

I don’t wake up thinking about building a bigger business. I wake up thinking about building a bigger impact. If one conversation, one book or one keynote helps someone stop believing they have to sacrifice themselves to be successful, then I’ve done something worthwhile. Because I genuinely believe the ripple effect of one healthier person extends far beyond that individual. It changes families, workplaces, friendships and communities.

That belief shapes every decision I make.

I believe simplicity is underrated. We live in a world that constantly tells us to add more—more goals, more habits, more systems, more pressure. I’ve found that real transformation usually happens when we have the courage to do the opposite. To slow down enough to ask, “What can I let go of?” rather than “What else should I be doing?”

I also believe people deserve honesty. If I don’t believe something works, I won’t recommend it just because it’s popular. I’ve never been interested in following trends or adding to the noise. I’d much rather challenge conventional thinking if it means helping someone create lasting change. That’s probably why my work often encourages people to think differently about success, leadership and wellbeing.

Challenges don’t really discourage me anymore. They teach me.

Some of my biggest setbacks have completely changed the direction of my work, and with hindsight I’m grateful they did. They’ve taught me to stay curious instead of becoming attached to one way of thinking. Every challenge is an opportunity to ask a better question, and I’ve found that better questions almost always lead to better answers.

The same is true of innovation. I don’t innovate for the sake of being different. I innovate because people are changing, the way we live is changing, and the solutions that worked ten years ago aren’t always the solutions we need today. My role is to keep listening, keep learning and keep translating what I discover into practical ideas that genuinely improve people’s lives.

When things get tough, I come back to the reason I started.

I think about the people who’ve told me they finally stopped feeling guilty for putting themselves first. The leaders who’ve transformed the way they support their teams. The women who’ve realised they don’t have to choose between being successful and being well.

Those moments remind me that this work has never been about me.

It’s about helping people discover that there really is another way to live. A way that feels healthier. Kinder. Simpler. And ultimately, more human.

If I can leave that legacy behind, I’ll consider my life’s work a success.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your work, journey, or perspective that we haven’t covered?

Bronwen Sciortino:
There’s one idea I’ve been coming back to a lot lately, and I think it’s because it’s something I’ve had to learn myself.

For years, I thought change had to be big. I thought I needed more time, more motivation or the perfect set of circumstances before I could really make things different.

Now I see it completely differently. I think our lives are shaped by the tiny choices we make every single day. Not the dramatic ones. The ordinary ones.

The decision to step outside for five minutes instead of scrolling your phone. To eat breakfast instead of skipping it. To leave work on time. To ask for help. To take a deep breath before responding. On their own, they don’t seem life changing, but when there’s thousands of them, together they quietly become the direction of our lives.

That way of thinking also led me to another idea that’s become really important to me.

I call it the fray.

One day I was looking at a piece of fabric that had started to unravel. It struck me that it hadn’t fallen apart all at once. One thread had come loose, then another, then another. By the time you notice it, the fraying has often been happening for a while.

I think life is much the same.

Most of us don’t wake up one morning overwhelmed, burnt out or disconnected from ourselves. We get there gradually. We ignore the little signs because we’re busy. We tell ourselves we’ll slow down next week, or next month, or after the next project and before we know it, we’re living a life that no longer feels like our own.

The beautiful thing is that healing works the same way – we don’t put our lives back together in one giant leap, we do it one thread at a time.

That’s why I’m so passionate about helping people see the power of five, ten or fifteen minutes. We tend to dismiss those little pockets of time because they don’t feel like enough. But I’ve found the opposite is true. Those small moments are often where the biggest shifts begin. Five minutes of movement. Ten minutes of quiet. Fifteen minutes doing something that fills you up instead of draining you. They don’t just change your day, they slowly change the story you’re living.

If there’s one thing I’d love people to remember after reading this interview, it’s that you don’t have to overhaul your life to start feeling better.

You just have to begin.

One small choice, one loose thread repaired, one moment where you choose yourself.

Because I’ve learned that our lives rarely change all at once – they change, beautifully and quietly, one small decision at a time.
