The controversy began after footage from Foster’s charity event appeared online and quickly attracted attention. In the video, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry can be seen standing together as photographers take pictures. Foster appears to walk past the couple before later returning with his wife, actress and singer Katharine McPhee. The four then interact, smile and share a laugh while posing for photographs.
Despite the seemingly casual nature of the exchange, some viewers interpreted Foster’s initial movement past Meghan and Harry as a deliberate slight, particularly toward Meghan.
