A. G. Cook To Be 2025 BRIT Awards Producer of the Year Ahead of Starry Ceremony

The BRIT Awards have made it official, announcing the winner of the highly sought-after Producer Of The Year award for 2025. The news broke just a few days ahead of the glamorous event, which is being held at The O2 in London this Saturday, March 1. The ceremony will mark the hosting comeback of Jack Whitehall and will exclusively be available on ITV1 and ITVX.

Music enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the event have already been granted some thrilling announcements prior to the main event. The most recent announcement confirms A. G. Cook, who is a well-established collaborator of Charli XCX, has won the highly regarded Producer Of The Year award. Cook—whose nickname is Alexander Guy Cook—played an integral part in Charli XCX’s critically acclaimed 2024 record ‘Brat,’ which competes for Album Of The Year at this year’s BRITs.

The British producer has established an impressive career, gaining widespread acclaim for his creative production style. His output is not limited to Charli XCX, as he has worked on music by internationally renowned artists like Caroline Polachek, Troye Sivan, Christine & The Queens, Oklou, and the late SOPHIE. His ability has already seen him receive several Grammy nominations, including for his work with Charli and Beyoncé.

Apart from his prolific production credits, Cook has established himself as a recording artist in his own right. His third studio album, ‘Britpop,’ released last year, was received to critical praise, including a five-star review from NME. His influence on the music world goes even further through PC Music, the groundbreaking London-based label he established in 2013, which has been at the forefront of the hyperpop movement.

Looking back at his success, Cook thanked the award for the honor, admitting that his career path has not been typical. “As a person who’s always been a bit of an outsider, I’m incredibly honored to be acknowledged by The BRITs,” he said. “From the early days of PC Music to the Charli mixtapes and beyond, I’ve been fortunate to work on so much music that I really believe in.”

He went on to dedicate his win to the late SOPHIE, a groundbreaking artist and producer whose influence continues to resonate throughout the industry. “In particular, I’d like to dedicate this moment to SOPHIE, whose vision and artistry is still a driving force for producers everywhere.”

A. G. Cook’s boundary-pushing work has not gone unnoticed by industry insiders. Damian Christian, President of Promotions and Managing Director at Atlantic Records (Warner Music UK) and BRIT Committee Chair for 2025, praised Cook’s work in music over the last year. “What a year A. G. Cook has had – from his sweeping solo album ‘Britpop’ to world-conquering ‘Brat,’ he has stretched the limits and produced phenomenal music,” he said. “He is a creative genius and has collaborated with the world’s largest artists – getting the best out of them at all times and pushing them to evolve their music. Congratulations to A. G. on his coronation as the 2025 Producer Of The Year.”

The Producer Of The Year award is decided every year by an esteemed group of expert judges so that the award goes to someone who has made a great contribution to the music industry. Past winners have been top producers like Chase & Status, David Guetta, Fred Again., and Calvin Harris, all of whom have been instrumental in defining contemporary music.

Cook’s victory is the icing on an already impressive list. Last week, Charli XCX’s ‘Brat’ took home not one but two Grammy Awards – Best Dance/Electronic Music Album and Best Recording Package. Although the album was also in the running for the coveted Album Of The Year award, it went to Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter.’

Aside from the awards and recognition, anticipation continues to mount for the ceremony itself, with additional performances announced in the run-up to the event. Sam Fender and Lola Young have been confirmed as the final two live acts for this year’s show, adding to an already glittering lineup. Other performers scheduled to perform are Sabrina Carpenter, JADE, Shaboozey, Teddy Swims, The Last Dinner Party, and Myles Smith, the latter of whom has already received this year’s Rising Star honor.

At the same time, fans of music also get to sample a series of special live sets in the ongoing BRITs Week 2025, the yearly celebration for the greatest music made in the United Kingdom through special live gigs preceding the annual main ceremony. For this year’s lineup includes close-up intimate concerts by esteemed artists like Kasabian, James Bay, and Soft Play, where followers of these iconic groups get a chance to taste the music while enjoying it through close and cozy experiences.

With excitement at an all-time high, the 2025 BRIT Awards are set to be a night never to be forgotten, honoring the industry’s best and brightest. From A. G. Cook’s long-overdue win as Producer Of The Year to the electrifying performances that are in store, the evening is becoming one not to be missed for music lovers everywhere.
