I had the pleasure of meeting Danielle Kendler-Rhodes last summer, after seeing her in a great performance of an interactive theatre show in Connecticut.

Whilst the character that Danielle was playing was not my favourite in past productions I’ve seen, Danielle managed to turn my opinion around, by playing the character with charisma, grace and a classic dollop of English humour.

Danielle is a young actress who is originally from London. From a young age, she tells me, she was immersed in art, music and theatre culture. Her father is a jazz musician whilst her mother filled the house with her own artwork. She was joking that her brother was taking on a different path and became a doctor, but still he immerses himself with film and music to match the household lifestyle.

Chatting to Danielle, immediately gives you the impression that she is an utterly focused individual. She tells me that she couldn’t see herself as anything but an actress, and although attending academic schools for most of her young life, she always found a way to make theatre the focal point of her learning and out of school curriculum. Finally, at the age of 14 she was offered a place at the BRIT school for performing arts with Alumni such as Tom Holland and Adele, where she attended until her final year. She was also offered a place at the prestigious National Youth Theatre of Great Britain which consists of Oscar winners such as Daniel Day Lewis and acclaimed actress Helen Mirren.

The success in the UK did not stop Danielle from seeking further hights, and in 2020 she travelled to NYC after being offered a place in the prestigious Stella Adler Studio of Acting. After graduating in 2023, no time was lost, and immediately she debuted in her first off-off Broadway production of The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov playing a role originally performed by Merryll Streep herself.

Danielle kept busy from then on, and has been working continuously in regional theatre, off-off Broadway shows, and acting side by side with numerous television and Broadway talent.

Only 22 years old, and already making a big impression as ‘a talent to watch’, Danielle is on the right track to gain a wider audience. Seeing Danielle perform was certainly one of the highlights of the evening and meeting her in person only make me more of a fan. I cannot wait to see her in more production and follow her career as she takes on further challenges.
