Prince William responds to criticism over how much of a leader he is being regarding tackling homelessness, stating the cause that has brought him to launch Homewards, a new campaign by ITV, in an all-new documentary Prince William: We Can End Homelessness. The documentary also releases a teaser clip, which questions whether the Duke of Cambridge is the right man to lead such an ambitious initiative – one aimed to end homelessness in six areas throughout the entire UK.
He says that the position only serves as a channel through which he can exert his influence for the good of other people. He asserts, “I have no other agenda than wanting to be able to make a difference to some of these vulnerable people.” He admits, though, that despite his love for the challenge, he will not provide a cure for homeless people on his own.
The Duke of Cambridge, despite owning multiple homes like his main residence, Adelaide Cottage, as well as several more he inherited through the Duchy of Cornwall, was quick to point out his work for people housing. One example would be his plan to build 24 homes in Newquay with support services to help people transition toward permanent housing.
The documentary showcases William’s dedication to carrying on the cause of his mother, Princess Diana, whom he saw leave a legacy with help for homeless communities, something he deems close to his heart.
