Oasis Warn Fans: Inflated Ticket Resales Will Be Cancelled

Oasis has warned fans of the risks they are taking should they decide to buy their tickets for the sold-out reunion tour at inflated prices from speculators. The band has warned that all the resold tickets, especially at an inflated price, will be invalidated upon advice of promoters.

A limited presale ballot allowed some lucky fans to secure tickets on Friday evening. But just hours after tickets went on sale, prices were already rocketing on resale sites. On StubHub, standing tickets ‘starting at’ £73 up to £151 cropped up with bids of as much as £3,615, while seated tickets were on it for more than £6,000. On other popular resale site Viagogo, listings were found at upwards of £2,000.

The band took to social media platform X to address the matter head on, noting, “We have been alerted to people flaunting to sell tickets on the secondary market since the beginning of the presale. Tickets can ONLY be resold, at face value, via @Ticketmaster and @Twickets. Tickets sold contrary to these terms and conditions will be cancelled by the promoters.”

Consumer law expert Lisa Webb from Which? He urged fans not to buy these exorbitant resale tickets. “Oasis fans are understandably keen to snap up tickets for the reunion tour but we would strongly advise against buying into any of the resale tickets currently popping up online at massively inflated prices. Not only may some of these listings be attempts at scams, but even legitimate ones could indeed be cancelled-meaning void-and therefore invalid-if they are sold outside of the official resale platforms or above face value,” he explained.

Official prices for the 15 dates of the UK tour are mixed, with general admission tickets to see Taylor Swift at London’s Wembley Arena available from £74.25, with premium packages costing up to £506.25, but that does include entrance to a pre-show party and exhibition, and the comfort of reserved seating. Tickets for Cardiff’s Principality Stadium and Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium are comparable prices, the lowest tiering at £73, and standing tickets around £150. In Manchester — home turf for the band — they start at £148.50, with standing tickets even more, and several hospitality and luxury packages.

For the Dublin dates, also at Croke Park, they start at €86.50 (£73) before booking fees, according to promoter MCD.

With Oasis’ UK shows on sale at 9am on Saturday, and Dublin gigs at 8am, fans are being told to buy only via official channels or risk tickets being invalidated. A clear line from the group: though demand for the reunion tour may be overwhelming, the exploitation of its fans via high prices will not be.
