Kevin Jonas recently disclosed that he underwent surgery to remove skin cancer from his face. The 36-year-old singer provided a health update via Instagram, posting a clip of himself before and after the procedure.
“Today, I am getting a basal-cell carcinoma removed from my head,” Jonas explained. The Jonas Brothers member, who shared a sweet photo of his 10-year-old daughter Alena dressed as him last week, showed a mole on his forehead while lying down. “Yes, that is an actual little skin cancer guy that has started to grow,” he said. “And now I have to get surgery to remove it, so here we go.” He urged his 4.9 million followers to get regular health checkups, emphasizing, “Make sure to get those moles checked, people.”
In the caption of his post, he reiterated the importance of regular skin checks: “Friendly reminder to get your moles checked.”
This health update follows the recent postponement of the Jonas Brothers’ “Five Albums. One Night. The World Tour.” Besides visiting his doctor and undergoing surgery, Jonas has been spending quality time with his two daughters, Alena and Valentina, seven.
He shares Alena and Valentina with his wife, Danielle Deleasa, a former hairdresser whom he married in 2009.
