Soorarai Potru 2020 is a South-Indian Tamil film starred by Suriya and Aparna Balamurali and directed by Sudha Kongara. This story starts when Suriya aka Maara wants to pursue his dream of starting an airline company named Air Deccan.
This movie is a very good movie and worth every second of your time. The acting of each and every character is to be appreciated. So, the story of this movie is very simple where Maaran’s main goal is to build an airline that is accessible to poor people of India. And at the end, he succeeds with the help of his friends and family. This movie is the 3rd best-rated of all time on IMDB and has beaten Dark Knight and Schindler’s List.
THE UNSTOPPABLE INDIAN:
It is based on the real-life story of a great man, the real Maara, Captain Gorur Ramaswamy Iyengar Gopinath, the unstoppable Indian.
A man who got India’s middle class to fly, created a revolution in air travel. He had many ups and downs in his life. He created history in 2003 with the launch of India’s first budget airline, Air Deccan.
LIFE STORY:
He was an officer in the Indian army. He left the military and became a farmer. But his lands were destroyed because of flooding. And then he partnered with his friend, they started a private helicopter company where they saw a good profit.
They were flying once and Mr.Gopinath noticed some small village boys running with the helicopter. Then he found that only 1% of the Indian population has flown although being the 2nd populated country in the world back in the 90s. This is when he got the idea of starting a budget airline way for all the classes of Indians.
He invested all his profits in this idea, he bought a plane and named it Air Deccan. He was the first man to introduce airlines to second-tier cities. This talented man was so convinced with the idea of making all Indians fly and he succeeded in that.
Every Indian’s thought of flying came true because of Air Deccan, the fare was as low as Rupees 1.
But this did not last long, Jet Airways’ profit fell, so they planned to land their flights in all the second-tier cities and decrease the fare. As Jet Airways was cheaper than Air Deccan, people started to prefer Jet Airways. Air Deccan’s profit fell, he was pushed to the end where he had to sell his dreams because it was running in loss.
At that time a new man entered the airlines, he was Vijay Mallya. Having no option left, he partnered with him. Vijay Mallya promised Mr.Gopinath to take his company to a good position as he valued it as his own daughter.
But then Vijay Mallya cheated him and renamed Air Deccan as Kingfisher. Now, Mr.Gopinath is the father of domestic airlines. He never wanted to quit his dreams even though he faced many difficulties throughout his life in achieving what he wanted.
