CHALLENGING TIMES BUT FOCUS REMAINS ON OLYMPIC MEDAL

At the same time last year,  PV sindhu was still coming in terms with the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As life came to a sudden halt with the nationwide lockdown, sindhu,like many of her fellow athletes, spent time with her family and worked on her skills and fitness levels.

 Twelve months later, having travelled to multiple countries amid the pandemic and played in bio-secure bubbles,  India’s star shuttler has learnt to accept that the’ new normal’ is here to stay. 

There is just 2 months to go for the Tokyo Olympics, the 25 year old athlete has begun the preparation for the world’s biggest sporting spectacle 

We had never imagined that such a situation would arise. As athletes used to constant travel and playing in tournaments , and to suddenly stay cooped at home with nothing to do is really strange. They couldn’t take part in any of the tournaments. Now the COVID situation is much more serious.  It’s frustrating, but at the same time, need to look at the bigger picture .life comes first and the inconveniences are trivial while compared to the COVID situation.  H
