On Saturday, June 25th, Louise Signore celebrated her 107th birthday at the JASA Bartow Senior Center in the Bronx. She is believed to be the oldest woman in the world who has never been married.
Signore was born in Italy in 1914 and immigrated to the United States in the 1930s. She has lived in the Bronx for most of her life and currently resides in an independent living facility.
Signore is an inspiration to many, having lived alone for most of her life and never getting married. She is a strong, independent woman who is an example of how to live a long and healthy life.
When asked about her secret to longevity, Signore said, “I never got married and I think that’s the secret. I never had to worry about anyone but myself.” She also credits her faith in God and a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables for her long life.
Signore’s birthday celebration was attended by many of her friends and family, including her nephew, Joe Signore. Joe said, “My aunt is an amazing woman. She’s always been independent and strong-willed. She’s an inspiration to all of us.”
