Rapper A$AP Rocky is opening up about his hopes as a first-time father. The artist, who recently welcomed a baby boy with girlfriend Rihanna, spoke to Dazed magazine for their summer 2022 issue where he shared his thoughts on fatherhood and what he wants to instill in his kids.
A$AP Rocky and Rihanna first sparked rumors of a romance in December 2020, and the couple has since been spotted out and about together on multiple occasions. In April 2021, it was reported that the couple was expecting their first child together.
In the interview, A$AP Rocky opened up about his hopes for fatherhood and what he wants to teach his son. He said, “I want to be a great father, to be able to teach him the right things, to show him the right way, to give him the best of everything.”
The rapper also shared his thoughts on how he hopes to raise his son. He said, “I want to be able to teach him to be a gentleman, to be respectful, to be humble, to be kind, to be generous, to be understanding, to be honest, to be loyal, to be trustworthy.”
A$AP Rocky also spoke about the importance of family and how he hopes to instill that value in his son. He said, “I want to teach him the importance of family, of having a strong family bond, of having strong relationships with his family members, of having strong relationships with his friends.”
