One of the earliest albums to achieve Diamond certification was Michael Jackson’s 1982 album Thriller. Thriller was a massive success, selling more than 65 million copies worldwide and producing seven top 10 singles. It was the first album to have seven of its singles reach the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, and it won a record-breaking eight Grammy Awards.
The Eagles’ 1976 album Hotel California was the second album to achieve Diamond certification.
