ABOUT

Suman Roy is a globally recognized business leader and social justice advocate known for his transformative work across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors, with a focus on health, food security, and poverty reduction. He played a central role in developing Toronto’s first-ever Food Strategy and later founded Feed Scarborough, a pioneering initiative tackling food apartheid and promoting sustainable food systems. His mission expanded through national and international projects like Hunger-Free Canada and the Zero Hunger Project, which includes a global podcast and book aimed at eliminating hunger. A passionate proponent of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Suman has represented Canada at international platforms including the UN’s High-Level Political Forum and the FAO, speaking on global stages to foster collaboration and systemic change. His visionary leadership has earned him prestigious honors such as the “CEO of the Year (NGO)”, “Changemaker of the Year”, “Visionary of the Year”, and the King Charles III Coronation Medal. Through relentless advocacy and innovation, Suman Roy continues to lead impactful efforts toward a hunger-free, equitable world.
