Dr. Calynn Lawrence is an American mental and spiritual wellness expert, social scientist, and entrepreneur known for her advocacy in holistic healing and social impact. She is the Founder and Programming Director of The Holistic Healing Source for Marginalized Society, an initiative dedicated to providing accessible mental health resources, affordable professional training, and collaborative partnerships aimed at supporting underserved communities. With a mission to address systemic disparities through faith-based and evidence-backed integrative mental health programming, the organization works with government agencies, nonprofits, schools, and businesses to create lasting change.
Dr. Lawrence holds a Doctorate in Pastoral/Faith-Based Counseling and a Master of Science in Management & Leadership. Her research has explored the impact of trauma-informed, spirit-led rehabilitation programs on reducing recidivism among incarcerated individuals. She is globally accredited by the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine Board and is a board-certified specialist in acute traumatic stress, clinical trauma, and religious trauma. Additionally, she has credentials in neurocriminology and neuropsychotherapy, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach to mental health and criminal justice reform.
Growing up in a low-income community on Chicago’s Southwest Side, Dr. Lawrence developed a deep commitment to advocating for marginalized groups. Her personal experiences with mental health challenges and spiritual healing inspired her to bridge gaps in holistic wellness access. Before founding The Holistic Healing Source, she established Calynn Communications & Creative Corporation and The Fresh Faces Project, a nonprofit supporting aspiring creatives and entrepreneurs. Through her extensive work in social impact and holistic healing, she continues to drive initiatives that promote education equity, accessible healthcare, and systemic reform for disadvantaged communities.
