ABOUT
Anannya Mahanta is an emerging, aspiring and excellent South Asian dancer and her art-form is Sattriya Dance, which is the 8th classical dance form of India just like Bharatnatyam and Kathak. She has been practicing this art form since three years old and it’s been almost 25 years of practicing that with deeper understanding and exploration. She is a double diploma holder in her field and a certified performing artist under Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India too. She is also an artistic member of One Dance UK and a graded artist under globally known satellite channel Doordarshan Kendra of India. She has been awarded quite a few national and international awards for her contribution towards Sattriya Dance few being India Star Passion Awards 2019 by India Star Book of Records, Vrindrani Awards 2024 by Lasya, Forever Star India Awards 2023 and recently she has been nominated for the London Community Excellence Awards 2025 by Charles Gordon Trust. She has served as the role of Managing Director , Co-founder and President for 4.5 years in one of her self founded socio cultural organisation in the name of Nrityangahara where under her leadership Anannya curated numerous events , workshops, lec-dem sessions and contributed for the promotion and propagation of Sattriya Art and Culture.
