ABOUT

Crystal Crowell is an award-winning social impact strategist, an international speaker, and Miss Black DC USA 2025. With a background in social work and a lifelong love of storytelling, she built a platform that blends advocacy known for blending style, strategy, and service to create transformational change. She holds a Bacehlor of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and an Master of Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver, with specialized training in nonprofit leadership and facilating change for children and families. Her signature initative, Resilience Through Reading, has reached hundreds of youth through curated book clubs, school partnerships, and storytelling-based programs that center literacy, leadership and emotional wellness. As a speaker Crowell brings heart, soul, and strategy to every stage. She’s delivered keynotes, panels, and workshops for national and international audiences across topics such asyouth development, public health, mental health and education. She is passionate about helping others reclaim visibility, voice, and value. Whether on stage or in the community her voice challenges norms, sparks dialouge, and inspires action rooted in service and legacy. About Miss Black DC USA Miss Black DC USA (@missblackdcusapageant) is part of the Miss Black USA Organization, a pageant dedicated to celebrating the beauty, intelligence, and leadership of Black women. The Miss Black DC USA division serves as a platform for women in the District of Columbia to advocate for causes that uplift communities and inspire change. Through service, advocacy, and leadership, the pageant equips titleholders with opportunities to make meaningful contributions while redefining beauty standards and empowering others to achieve their dreams.
