Microsoft is bringing console-free gaming to more living rooms. Starting today, the Xbox app is rolling out to select LG smart TV models, allowing users to stream and play Xbox games directly on their TVs—no console required.

The app is compatible with LG’s 2022 OLED TVs, select 2023 smart TVs, and newer models running webOS 24 or higher. LG’s portable StanbyME screens are also slated to receive support soon. On 2025 LG TVs, the Xbox app is pre-installed within the new LG Gaming Portal, while users of older models will need to manually download it from the LG Content Store.
To use the app, players will need to:
- Update their TV to the latest firmware
- Connect a Bluetooth-enabled controller
- Have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription
