They even baked their holiday fruitcake during these times because the electricity was so cheap.
“This is like a game,” said Laura. “We’re playing with the wind and saving money!”
Octopus Energy is the biggest electricity supplier in the country and runs nine wind turbines in the area. They want to show everyone that wind power can be a great choice for saving money and helping the environment. “When wind power is strong, we want people to use it more,” said Greg Jackson, the CEO of Octopus Energy. “It’s cheaper and better for the Earth!”
