Britain’s King Charles will return to public duties next week after being diagnosed with cancer, Buckingham Palace announced on Friday. Despite undergoing treatment and a period of rest, the King has made good progress and is now ready to resume his official engagements.

Although Charles continued with official state business, the diagnosis led him to postpone public engagements to begin treatment and rest.

A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace stated, “His majesty’s treatment programme will continue, but doctors are sufficiently pleased with the progress made so far that the king is now able to resume a number of public-facing duties.”

The spokesperson further added, “His majesty is greatly encouraged to be resuming some public-facing duties and very grateful to his medical team for their continued care and expertise.”

While details about the specific type of cancer and treatment remain private, his doctors are optimistic about his recovery, though it is too early to determine the duration of his treatment.

Charles, 75, has been seen carrying out official duties in private, with his only public appearance occurring last month during an Easter church service in Windsor, where he greeted well-wishers. His return to public duties signals a positive step forward in his health journey.
