Chapter 1: Summoned Again
“Hm, where am I?”
Those were the first thoughts that ran through Ken’s mind as he opened his eyes. He was lying on a soft bed, in a room that he didn’t recognize. The room was decorated in a medieval style, with stone walls and wooden furniture.
Ken sat up and looked around, trying to figure out where he was. He remembered going to bed in his own apartment, but now he was in this strange place.
“How did I get here?” he wondered aloud.
Suddenly, the door to the room opened and a young woman walked in. She was wearing a long white dress and had long flowing black hair. She was the most beautiful woman that Ken had ever seen.
“Hello,” the woman said in a soft voice. “My name is Alice. I’m the one who summoned you.”
“Summoned me?” Ken repeated, confused. “What for?”
“Because you’re the one who’s destined to save our world,” Alice said.
Ken laughed. “Save your world? You’re kidding, right?”
“I’m not kidding,” Alice said. “Our world is in danger, and only you can save it.”
Ken shook his head. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m just a regular guy.”
“But you’re not,” Alice said. “You’re the chosen one.”
Ken sighed. “Fine. What do you want me to do?”
“I want you to help me fight the Demon King,” Alice said.
“The Demon King?” Ken repeated. “You mean, like, the devil?”
“Yes,” Alice said. “The Demon King is a powerful evil sorcerer who is trying to take over our world.”
Ken shook his head again. “I’m not sure I can help you with that.”
“But you have to,” Alice said. “You’re the only one who can.”
Ken didn’t know what to say. He didn’t believe in magic or demons, but he also didn’t know how to explain how he had ended up in this strange world.
“Fine,” he said. “I’ll help you.”
Alice smiled. “Thank you,” she said. “I knew I could count on you.”
Alice led Ken out of the room and into a long hallway. The hallway was empty, but Ken could hear the sound of voices coming from further down the hall.
“Where are we going?” Ken asked.
“To the throne room,” Alice said. “The king is waiting to meet you.”
Ken followed Alice down the hallway and into a large room. The room was filled with people, all of whom were dressed in medieval clothing. At the far end of the room was a throne, and sitting on the throne was a man dressed in a royal robe.
The man stood up as Ken and Alice entered the room. He was a tall, imposing man with a long beard and piercing blue eyes.
“Welcome,” the man said. “I am King Arthur, and I am the ruler of this land.”
King Arthur bowed to Ken. “I am honored to meet you,” he said. “We have been expecting you.”
Ken bowed back. “I am honored to meet you as well,” he said.
“Please,” King Arthur said. “Have a seat.”
Ken and Alice sat down in two chairs in front of the throne.
“Now,” King Arthur said. “Tell me why you are here.”
“I am here to help you fight the Demon King,” Ken said.
King Arthur smiled. “I am glad to hear that,” he said. “We need all the help we can get.”
King Arthur explained that the Demon King had been terrorizing the land for many years. He had raised a large army of monsters and demons, and he was now poised to invade the kingdom.
“We have been fighting the Demon King’s army for months,” King Arthur said. “But we are outnumbered and outgunned. We need your help to defeat him.”
Ken nodded. “I will do everything in my power to help you,” he said.
King Arthur stood up and held out his hand. “Welcome to the fight,” he said.
Ken stood up and shook King Arthur’s hand. He was now officially part of the resistance against the Demon King. He knew that the battle ahead would be difficult, but he was determined to do everything he could to help save the kingdom.
