Angelina Jolie has sold her historic Los Angeles estate for an estimated $24.75 million, bringing the property’s latest chapter to a close after it was listed for nearly $30 million. The sale involves the actress’s longtime Los Feliz residence, a landmark property known for its architectural character, expansive grounds and connection to Hollywood history. Jolie had originally placed the estate on the market for approximately $29.85 million in May, making the reported sale price notably lower than the initial asking figure.
The sprawling property, located in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles, covers approximately 11,000 square feet and has been associated with one of the city’s most recognizable residential addresses. Jolie purchased the home in June 2017 for about $24.5 million, making the reported sale price only modestly higher than what she paid for it nearly a decade ago. While property values can shift considerably depending on market conditions, renovations, location and buyer demand, the reported transaction highlights the difference that can emerge between a luxury property’s listing price and its eventual sale value.
Jolie acquired the estate shortly after filing for divorce from actor Brad Pitt in September 2016. The former couple had been together for roughly 11 years and married for two years before Jolie filed for divorce. Following the purchase, the actress made the Los Feliz residence her family home, moving in with her six children.

Over the years, the property became more than simply a celebrity residence. Its scale, history and distinctive design made it one of the more notable private homes associated with Hollywood. The estate’s previous connection to filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille adds another layer of significance, linking Jolie’s ownership of the property to an earlier era of the American film industry.
The house itself reflects the architectural tastes of a different period in Los Angeles. The main residence is designed in the Beaux Arts style, an architectural tradition associated with elaborate detailing, symmetry and a grand sense of scale. Such properties are relatively distinctive in modern Los Angeles, where luxury real estate often combines contemporary design with extensive privacy features.
The estate includes six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, providing considerable living space for a large household. Its approximately 11,000-square-foot footprint also places it firmly within the upper end of Los Angeles luxury real estate. Rather than functioning as a conventional single-family home, the property offers a collection of spaces intended for living, entertaining, recreation and privacy.
Among its notable features is a roughly 1,000-square-foot guest house and studio. The separate structure has its own gated entrance, giving visitors or occupants a degree of independence from the main residence. For a property owned by a high-profile public figure, separate access can also provide practical advantages when privacy and security are important considerations.
The grounds include a 40-foot swimming pool accompanied by a pool house. The outdoor space contributes significantly to the character of the estate, particularly in Los Angeles, where private pools and landscaped areas are often central features of high-value residential properties. The estate also contains a fitness studio and a tea house, adding facilities that extend beyond the basic requirements of a private residence.
Security was another prominent feature of the property. A separate garage includes a security station, while the gated design of portions of the estate provides additional privacy. For celebrities living in Los Angeles, properties with controlled access and substantial separation from surrounding streets can be particularly attractive because they offer greater protection from public attention.
Jolie’s decision to sell the residence also comes as her family has entered a different stage of life. When she purchased the property in 2017, her children were considerably younger. Years later, her six children have reached their late teenage years and twenties, naturally changing the needs of the household. Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne have all grown up during Jolie’s years at the Los Feliz estate.
The reported sale price of $24.75 million is especially notable when compared with the original purchase price of approximately $24.5 million. On the surface, the difference is relatively small for a property that spent almost a decade in one of the country’s most closely watched luxury housing markets. However, a direct comparison between purchase and sale prices does not account for ownership expenses, maintenance, renovations, taxes, transaction costs or broader changes in the real estate market over time.
