Gwyneth Paltrow is returning to the big screen with Marty Supreme, a highly anticipated sports drama where she stars alongside Timothée Chalamet. While promoting the film, the Oscar-winning actor revealed she was unaware of who Chalamet was — or that he was dating Kylie Jenner.
In a chat with British Vogue, Gwyneth admitted she only learned about Kylie indirectly. “Everyone makes fun of me because I don’t know anything,” she laughed. “I asked Timothée if he had a girlfriend, and he said, ‘I do.’ He mentioned that she had kids, and I thought that was so cool. I told him, ‘That’s really nice to hear from a young man like you.’”
She continued, “I understand when someone older, who already has kids, dates a woman with children. But for a young guy, that’s a cool choice — kind of punk rock, actually. I respected it. But I had no idea it was Kylie Jenner.”
Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner first sparked dating rumors in early 2023, not long after Jenner’s split from Travis Scott. The speculation grew after multiple sightings together, and by September 2023, their relationship was confirmed when they attended Beyoncé’s concert hand in hand. Since then, the couple has made several public appearances, including at the Golden Globes and the Oscars.
In Marty Supreme, Chalamet portrays Marty Mauser, a prodigious ping-pong player who rises through the ranks to become the U.S. men’s singles champion. The film explores his journey filled with triumphs, chaos, and personal challenges. Early reviews have praised Chalamet’s performance, with many predicting strong Oscar potential. The movie also stars Fran Drescher, Tyler, the Creator, and Odessa A’zion, and is slated for release on December 25.
