How did Airtasker and VCARB first come together, and what sparked this collaboration?

Tim: Airtasker has always been known for helping people get odd jobs done, but as we scale globally, we’ve been looking for ways to show how our mission connects with a broader audience. Partnering with VCARB felt like a natural fit as both of us champion creativity, innovation, and communities of go-getters. Their “think outside the box” approach and dynamic, tech-savvy fanbase really mirror what we’re building with our digital-first platform, giving people new and innovative ways to earn with their skills.

That’s why we created the helmet design brief, it was a way to bring our Airtasker community directly into the action, showcase their individuality and ingenuity, and highlight the shared values that drive both our brands forward.

Liam and Isack asked the public for “big, bold, badass” ideas. Why was it important to treat that as a genuine, paid creative brief?

Tim: At Airtasker, our mission has always been to empower people by creating new ways to earn and by celebrating the incredible range of talent within our community. What made this moment particularly powerful was that the task was developed in collaboration with the VCARB drivers, which sparked genuine engagement from our community. It was a great example of how people can connect in creative and meaningful ways to get things done.

It brought our mission to life through transparent bids, open creativity, and a display of the ingenuity within our community, showcasing the limitless opportunities people can access on Airtasker.

You started as a platform for everyday errands. What does this campaign say about how Airtasker has evolved for creatives and specialists?

Tim: Airtasker has always been flexible. Over time we have seen people find work across all sorts of industries. That has expanded into areas like photography, music, and design. This project shows how far that can go. It is proof that Airtasker can connect people with opportunities at every level, from the everyday to the extraordinary.

Some UK Taskers are already earning up to £7,000 a month. How do projects like this show that platforms like Airtasker can mean more than just ‘side hustles’?

Tim: We’re seeing Taskers not only complete individual tasks but also build sustainable careers and meaningful income streams through the platform. Partnerships like this underscore that Airtasker goes far beyond one-off jobs – it’s a powerful ecosystem for people to unlock opportunities, showcase their talents, and create lasting change in their own lives.

Airtasker has seen big growth in the UK. What is driving that, and how does this campaign fit into your vision here?

Tim: In the UK people want flexibility and independence in how they earn, while customers want things done quickly and easily. That mix has been a real driver of growth. This campaign reflects that vision perfectly. It shows Airtasker is not just practical, it can also be inspiring, a place where talent and opportunity meet.

F1 is all about teamwork and precision. Why bring the public into something like designing a pit crew helmet?

Tim: Opening the chance for the public to design a helmet brings that world closer to people who might never have imagined being part of it. That is what Airtasker is about, creating access and opportunities for the community that feel out of reach until suddenly they are not.

Opportunities like designing for an F1 team are usually reserved for agencies. How does Airtasker change that?

Tim: The VCARB creator platform is all about going beyond traditional agency models and giving creators direct access to the action. Airtasker helps surface that talent and connect it with real opportunities, showing that amazing ideas can come from anyone.

Liam and Isack’s influence is huge, especially through their social platforms. What role did that play in the campaign?

Tim:  All the details are available here.  They were looking for a design solution and chose to turn to Airtasker, tapping into the creativity and talent of our community to bring it to life.

When the design is revealed at the Qatar GP, what impact do you hope it has?

Tim: I would love the Airtasker community to feel proud that one of their own ideas made it onto the track. And for Taskers, I hope it shows that putting your skills forward can open doors you might never expect. If this inspires someone to back themselves a little more, that is a huge win.

As Airtasker continues to expand globally, its mission remains clear, to help people realize the value of their time and skills. From everyday errands to creative collaborations on the world stage, Airtasker is redefining how we think about work, opportunity, and community in the digital age.
