Tom Holland was rushed to the hospital after sustaining a head injury during a stunt sequence for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The incident occurred at Leavesden Studios in Watford, England, prompting emergency services to respond immediately.
According to a statement from the East of England Ambulance Service, they were called at 10:30 a.m. on Friday to assist “a patient who had sustained an injury.” Holland was transported by ambulance to the hospital, where he was treated for a concussion after reportedly hitting his head in a fall.
Despite the injury, the 29-year-old actor later attended a charity dinner in Mayfair alongside his father, Dominic Holland, and fiancée Zendaya. However, he reportedly left the event early after feeling unwell.
Reports differ on how long the injury will impact production. The Sun quoted Holland’s father saying he would be away from filming “for a while,” while Variety described the concussion as mild, indicating that Holland is expected to return to set after a short precautionary break. Sony and Marvel Studios are meeting today, September 22, to finalize next steps for the production schedule.
Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day began in August in Glasgow, Scotland, with behind-the-scenes leaks revealing the return of Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds and Zendaya as MJ. Footage from the set has hinted at a shift back to practical web-swinging stunts, a nostalgic nod to earlier Spider-Man films.
The upcoming film is slated for release on July 31, 2026. Holland’s accident comes amid a string of recent on-set injuries across Hollywood, including Henry Cavill’s leg injury while training for the Highlander reboot.
While the extent of Holland’s recovery time remains unclear, fans are hopeful the actor will make a swift return to his iconic role as Marvel’s beloved web-slinger.
