Prince Harry has made a personal donation of £1.1 million to BBC Children in Need to help young people affected by violence, with a focus on combating knife crime.
The Duke of Sussex announced the contribution during a visit to the Community Recording Studio in Nottingham on Tuesday. Unlike many of his philanthropic efforts, the funds come directly from his personal wealth rather than through his Archewell Foundation.
The donation will be directed towards grassroots organisations in Nottingham working to tackle youth violence and provide safer opportunities for young people. BBC Children in Need will also add £300,000 to the initiative, amplifying its impact.
Harry has a long-standing connection to Nottingham, having worked closely with local communities for nearly 15 years to address issues surrounding youth violence. This latest move reflects his continued dedication to creating lasting change in the city.
