Is Dybala Leaving AS Roma? Benfica Rumours and Manchester City’s Stand on Echeverri – What This Means for Us

“Will Dybala really leave Roma?” That’s the big question many football fans like us are asking. For those of us who love watching football and following our favourite stars, this news came like a surprise. Paulo Dybala, one of Roma’s most important players, is being talked about a lot. People are saying that he might be moving to a new club, and that club is Benfica. But is it true? Or is it just another football rumour?

Let’s start with what we know. Paulo Dybala, who is also called “La Joya” (which means “the jewel” in Spanish), is a strong and skilled forward. He plays for AS Roma and is very popular among the fans. Not just because of his goals, but also because of how he makes the team stronger on the field. Now, a new report is saying that he could join Benfica, a famous Portuguese football club. That club just said goodbye to another great Argentine player – Ángel Di María. So it’s not a surprise that people think Benfica might want Dybala next.

However, not everything we hear turns out to be true. Matteo Moretto, a trusted football journalist who often shares news with Fabrizio Romano, told fans on Romano’s YouTube channel that the rumours about Dybala going to Benfica are not very strong. He clearly said, “Various sources tell us that there is nothing between the player and the Portuguese club.” This should make Roma fans feel a bit more relaxed. According to him, Dybala is most likely going to stay in Rome.

Still, even a small rumour like this can make fans nervous. Why? Because losing Dybala would really affect Roma’s playing style. Roma’s coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, depends a lot on Dybala’s left foot, smart moves, and ability to score and assist. Even though Roma has a young talent named Matías Soulé, replacing a star like Dybala is never easy. Soulé has potential, but Dybala has experience.

So, what about Dybala himself? So far, he hasn’t said anything in public. But if there’s no serious contact between him and Benfica, it means he might not even be thinking about leaving. That’s good news for us fans who love seeing him wear the Roma jersey.

But Dybala isn’t the only name being discussed. There’s another young Argentine footballer that fans should keep an eye on – Claudio Echeverri. He plays for Manchester City right now. Roma is showing interest in him and may want to bring him into their squad. But here too, things are not going smoothly.

According to Matteo Moretto again, Manchester City does not want to send Echeverri to Roma right now. He explained that “today Manchester City is not inclined to let the player go to the Giallorossi. Guardiola, in fact, would like the Argentine to continue his journey at Girona, a club that is part of the City Group.” In simple words, Echeverri might stay inside the City Group, probably at Girona, where he will get more chances to grow under their eyes.

This makes things a little tricky for Roma. They really like Echeverri and think he could help their team. But if Manchester City doesn’t agree to send him, Roma will have to look for another young player. Roma’s sporting director, Frederic Massara, might wait a few more days to hear the final decision from City. He may even wait until the weekend. If the answer is still “no,” then he will likely move on and try to sign someone else.

From all this, one thing is clear – the transfer season is always full of surprises, rumours, and last-minute changes. Sometimes players decide quickly, and other times, clubs take their time to plan carefully. And we fans? We keep waiting, hoping our team makes the best choices.

Another important thing to remember is how much pressure and attention footballers get. For someone like Dybala, who has played for big clubs like Juventus and now Roma, it’s normal for people to talk about where he’s going next. But not every rumour turns into reality. Also, big teams like Manchester City want to keep a close eye on their young players like Echeverri because they see them as future stars.

As football fans, we should always be ready for change. Sometimes players we love leave, and new ones come in. Sometimes the club makes smart moves that help the team grow stronger. Whether it’s Dybala staying or going, or Echeverri joining Roma or staying with City, one thing stays the same – our love for the game.

Also, these rumours give us a chance to learn more about players, clubs, and how transfers really happen. We may not be managers or players, but we care just as much. Every little update, every quote, and every confirmed signing excites us. That’s what being a true football fan feels like.

In the end, it looks like Paulo Dybala is not going to leave Roma any time soon. The links with Benfica don’t seem strong enough. And while Roma is interested in Claudio Echeverri, Manchester City doesn’t seem ready to let him go yet. Things could change later, but as of now, both stories are cooling down.

So let’s take a breath and relax – at least for now. The transfer market is always changing, and we will keep watching, waiting, and supporting our favourite players no matter what.
