Syed Muhammad Faisal Sami has officially been named Humanitarian of the Year at the Influencer Magazine Awards 2025, honoring his lifelong commitment to service, compassion, and global impact. As the UK Head of the Faizan Global Relief Foundation (FGRF), the charitable arm of Dawat-e-Islami, Syed has spent over two decades delivering hope where it’s needed most, responding to crisis zones, transforming underserved communities, and building long-term systems of support for those too often left behind.
From the flood-ravaged regions of Pakistan to war-impacted communities in Gaza and earthquake-hit towns in Morocco and Turkey, Syed has led countless relief missions that have saved lives, restored dignity, and rebuilt futures. Under his leadership, FGRF has provided emergency food, clean water, medical aid, and shelter to hundreds of thousands of individuals, often within hours of disaster striking. His humanitarian footprint spans continents, with major development projects in countries like Malawi, Tanzania, The Gambia, and South Africa, where FGRF has helped construct schools, water systems, and safe housing for vulnerable populations.
In the UK, Syed’s work has been equally transformative. Based in the West Midlands, he has become a powerful voice for community safety and youth empowerment, leading campaigns against knife crime, drug abuse, and county lines exploitation. Through school talks, mentoring, and grassroots programming, Syed has reached young people at risk, offering education, guidance, and real alternatives to violence. His work in prisoner rehabilitation reflects a deep belief in second chances and human dignity, supporting incarcerated individuals with mentorship, emotional support, and paths toward a better life.
Syed is also an advocate for environmental responsibility, having spearheaded large-scale tree-planting campaigns that have added thousands of trees across communities. His efforts combine immediate relief with sustainable, long-term vision proving that humanitarianism is not only about reacting to crisis but preventing it, healing the planet, and investing in future generations. His work has not gone unnoticed. Syed has been honored with the British Citizen Award at the Palace of Westminster for two decades of voluntary service, named UK Volunteer of the Year by Charity Today, and recognized by the West Midlands Police & Crime Commissioner for his outstanding contributions to public safety. Additional accolades include the Community Champion of the Year award at the Birmingham Awards, the High Sheriff of West Midlands Award, the Frontline Leader Award, and inclusion in the 50 out of 50 Champions list, marking him as one of the most influential changemakers in the region.
“I am deeply humbled to receive the Humanitarian of the Year Award 2025. This honour is not mine alone, it belongs to every volunteer of FGRF and Dawat-e-Islami who tirelessly give their time, energy, and heart to serve humanity. It also belongs to those silent supporters behind the scenes whose generosity makes these life-changing projects possible. Above all, I dedicate this award to the founder of Dawat-e-Islami and my spiritual guide, Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat, Maulana Ilyas Qadri. Whatever good has come from my efforts is a reflection of his teachings, guidance, and the mission he ignited in us all,” said Syed Muhammad Faisal Sami.
From delivering aid to the frontlines of disaster to planting seeds of change in his own backyard, Syed’s life is a testament to what it means to lead with heart, faith, and an unwavering sense of duty. His work continues to uplift, inspire, and unite, and the ripple effect of his impact is felt in every life touched by his compassion. Congratulations, Syed Muhammad Faisal Sami, for this well-deserved win for ‘Humanitarian of the Year’. The world is brighter because of your light.
