Born in Freeport, New York, and raised in the foster care system, Linda transformed her personal history of trauma, loss, and survival into a life mission to stand in the gap for the unheard and overlooked. Her lived experience fuels her leadership as the Founder and Executive Director of New Me New You Inc., a pioneering nonprofit dedicated to mentorship, holistic development, and purpose-driven programs that serve the most vulnerable members of society.
Under Linda’s leadership, New Me New You Inc. champions six distinct initiatives, each designed to uplift and empower marginalized populations including those impacted by incarceration, women and men in transition, youth, migrants, seniors, and individuals facing homelessness or recovery challenges.Her advocacy work centers on some of the most pressing societal issues of our time, including housing insecurity & homelessness, Incarceration & reentry support, Food insecurity, Elder care and caregiver dignity, and culturally competent healthcare for marginalized groups.
As a licensed nurse, Linda’s dedication extends beyond her nonprofit into hospitals, homes, and shelters, where she continues to provide care rooted in compassion, equity, and humanity. In 2024, Linda was honored with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing her decades of unwavering service and impact. Her work has been featured in CEO Weekly Magazine, Women’s Journal, NBC, CBS, and The Sun, elevating her voice as a national and international force for change.
Linda also hosts the “New Me New You with Linda K. Edwards” podcast, where she amplifies powerful stories of restoration, purpose, and transformation. Her forthcoming memoir, “I’m a Little Bit Crazy but I Came Out Okay,” promises to be a testament to healing, faith, and resilience.
