We had the pleasure of connecting with Michael Eauslin, a passionate and award-winning independent filmmaker whose creative journey is fueled by imagination, resilience, and a love for storytelling. From background roles on small indie projects to directing award-winning short films, Michael’s path is a testament to hard work, determination, and a belief that no dream is too far out of reach.
In this exclusive conversation, Michael shares his journey into the world of filmmaking, his passion for horror, and how a life-changing experience gave him renewed purpose.
What kind of projects do you focus on, and what themes or values guide your work?
Michael Eauslin:
I stay focused currently in the horror film area. I try to make my films as outrageous as possible and make the viewer think about what they are seeing/hearing. I would eventually like to create comedy films because we all need a good laugh once in a while.
Michael’s horror films push boundaries, blending shock with psychological elements that invite audiences to question what they see and hear. His ultimate goal is to entertain, whether through fear, humor, or sheer curiosity—with stories born entirely from his imagination.
What inspires your creative work? Where do you draw inspiration from, and how do you stay creatively energized? What does your process look like?
Michael Eauslin:
I daydream a lot and think crazy thoughts and how it would look on film and would it be enough to terrorize the viewer. What inspires me is seeing others win Oscars/Emmy Awards and that drives me to create my films as it is my dream to walk that stage someday before I die to accept my award and see my star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Nothing is out of reach—all you have to do is believe that you are good enough.
Michael’s creative energy comes from within—his vivid imagination fuels his unique storytelling. For him, success isn’t a distant fantasy but a future milestone waiting to be earned through persistence, creativity, and self-belief.
Reflecting on his journey, Michael also shares a deeply personal chapter of his life:
Michael Eauslin:
In 2022 I had a stroke and thought I would never recover and my life was over as I knew it. 6 months afterwards I did get better and regain control of my body and looking at me today you would never know it. I was given a second chance in life and I’m reaching for the stars.
Michael’s recovery and resilience have only strengthened his resolve to pursue his dreams and continue crafting stories that leave an impact.
