The music video, directed by Aerin Moreno, was shot in Los Angeles on old-school 35mm film, giving it a classic movie look. The video shows Adam Levine and Lisa in a playful yet tense relationship, similar to the famous movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The visuals are stylish, and Lisa’s presence adds a fun, energetic vibe.
What Maroon 5 & Lisa Said About the Song
Adam Levine talked about how “Priceless” came together:
*“It’s just a guitar-based song, which we haven’t really done in so long. It happened first for us while we were recording the album. I think it’s just the purest, and we are so happy to have Lisa on it. The guitar intro is literally me playing into an audio message on my iPhone with an unplugged guitar. I actually got a little emotional recording ‘cause it was sort of reconnecting to our roots, which a lot of our fans have been saying, ‘Hey, we want to hear that sound again.’ It’s been like over 20 years, so I think it’s time for that to return.”*
James Valentine, Maroon 5’s guitarist, also shared his excitement:
“I got super emotional when Adam sent me the original demo of ‘Priceless’ because for me, the sound represents Maroon 5’s earlier days. I joined the band in 2001, so when I was seeing them play in 2000, ‘Priceless’ gave me the same sort of excitement from the chords to the overall vibe. I was super stoked on it, and it established the writing and sound for our upcoming album.”
A Preview of Maroon 5’s New Album & Tour
“Priceless” is just the beginning—Maroon 5 is gearing up to release their eighth studio album soon. While the exact details are still under wraps, Adam Levine hinted at big things coming.
Last month, during an appearance on The Tonight Show, he told host Jimmy Fallon:
“I cannot divulge all the details. But the details are basically, roughly, there’s a single coming at the end of the month-ish. I’m really excited about it. An album is coming over the summer. Non-specifically around the summertime. And then, even more non-specifically, there is a tour coming in the fall-ish.”
Fans can also expect a world tour later this year. Before that, the band will wrap up their Las Vegas residency, where they’ve already performed 40 shows at the Dolby Live at Park MGM.
Looking Back at Maroon 5’s Last Album
Maroon 5’s previous album, Jordi, came out in 2021. It had collaborations with big names like Megan Thee Stallion, Stevie Nicks, H.E.R., and YG. Some of the popular songs from that album were “Memories” and “Nobody’s Love.”
