Brian May Suggests Possible Queen Return with New Music

Brian May, Queen’s legendary guitarist, recently made waves by teasing the idea of new music from the legendary band. Even though Queen’s most recent studio album, Made in Heaven, came out in 1995—four years following the untimely death of their frontman Freddie Mercury—the notion of new music from the band has been a topic of interest among many fans.

Brian May, still active at 77, remains committed to his musical life. During a recent interview with Mojo magazine, he mentioned that he and Queen’s drummer Roger Taylor are producing new music, and the possibility of a Queen song becoming reality is indeed an open possibility. “I think it could happen,” said May, setting the tongues wagging about a possible return.

May continued to describe the process of creativity that might result in new music. “Both Roger and I are always writing and coming up with ideas and doing things in our studios,” he said. “I could have the seeds of a Queen song right there in front of me now. It’s just whether the idea reaches maturity or not.”. It’s if that seed germinates. This is a nod to the fact, though nothing is in stone, that initial spark of new music is there, and Queen fans may get to witness something new out of the band.

Roger Taylor also expressed his excitement regarding potential new music during an interview with Uncut magazine recently. “I think we might,” he told them. Taylor said that he and May recently spoke of doing new material, continuing, “Brian and myself were chatting the other day, and we both said that if we think we’ve got some good material, why not? We can still play. We can still sing. So I don’t see why not.”

To Queen fans, this announcement is thrilling potential. While the band’s legacy is already secure with their forever classics, the thought of new music added to their catalog would add a new page to their amazing tale. Queen’s impact on music is still very deep, and any new music would easily connect with both old and new generations of fans.

Though the details of whether or when Queen will put out new music are not yet decided, May and Taylor’s recent statements make it clear that they remain committed to making music. Their openness to experimenting with new things is evidence that Queen is far from closing the chapter on making music. May and Taylor’s chemistry is still a driving force, which means that their collaboration is still capable of producing something magical.

While Queen has maintained touring and issuing live albums, the prospect of new studio material is an enticing one. May and Taylor’s ongoing musical energy might be enough to produce a new endeavor that reflects the band’s previous work while continuing to innovate. The ongoing rumors of new material indicate that, even with the passage of time, the urge to create and innovate remains as potent as ever.

While fans wait with bated breath for more news, the very prospect of a new Queen song or album is sufficient to create a buzz. If May and Taylor were to release new material, it would be another achievement in Queen’s illustrious career, cementing their already legendary status in rock music.
