Ruth Langsford Speaks out about her split from Eamonn Holmes and journey forward
Ruth Langsford has discovered a way to rise above the pain of her recent split, offering a candid look into her emotions as she navigates life after the end of her marriage with Eamonn Holmes. Speaking for the first time since their breakup, Ruth shares the challenges she’s faced and how she’s managed to stay strong through the difficult period.
In an interview with Woman & Home magazine, Ruth explained how she coped with the end of her 27-year relationship. “You can crumble or pick yourself up. It’s a choice,” she says. Ruth’s strength and resilience are threaded throughout as she refuses to define herself according to how her marriage ended but instead moves on with life, though it has not been easy.
While Eamonn has moved on quickly with his new girlfriend, relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, Ruth is taking her time to embrace the single life. Though she admits, “I’m quite fine being on my own, but not forever,” it’s clear she’s open to finding love again when the right person comes along.
TV personalities Ruth and Eamonn presented This Morning for 15 years on ITV and so their very public split after their relationship break-up in May last year made it even more attention-grabbing. For such a long-term couple as themselves, Ruth feels the separation has been the subject of much interest. “Relationship breakdowns are very difficult, but you deal with it and have to move on,” she says. “It’s a painful process, but it’s all part of life.” Despite the public nature of their separation, Ruth maintains a level of grace, focusing on her own path forward.
Eamonn, who has been open about his struggles with mobility, was quick to go public with his new partner. Eamonn and Ruth frequently appear in pictures together, although sources suggest an engagement is Eamonn preparing to make Ruth his wife at last. Far from it from Ruth. It hasn’t made her a joy to sit up and take notice of it herself. “Not happy about this divorce at all, but got over it eventually,” she candidly confided. Pain by divorce has always been present yet Ruth wants happiness in her own life.
Ruth’s willingness to embrace her single status has allowed her to rediscover her own autonomy. “I’m trying to now embrace the fact I’m single and can make choices that are just about me,” she shares. Her focus on her personal growth has allowed her to find new strength and self-empowerment. She’s also doing a lot to advance her physical and mental wellness. Of late, she states that she has undergone hormone rebalance that has contributed to her transformation about her body. “Divorce obviously has something to do with it, but I also went for a hormone rebalance, which helped,” she observes while referring to losing a little weight in the process.
Ruth remains busy, hosting Loose Women twice a week and appearing regularly on the shopping channel QVC. Last year, she grossed £2.5 million off her various projects, cementing her success in the line of business. At this rate, Ruth is adamant that, for now, she doesn’t look for much more significant things to do. “People ask, ‘What’s next?
‘ I go, ‘What else do you want me to do? ‘ Honestly, I’m not looking for more big projects,” she says, signaling that her focus is on enjoying the present moment and finding fulfillment in her current endeavors. While Ruth is embracing her new life, she acknowledges that the pain of divorce is a process that takes time. The public nature of her split with Eamonn has added a layer of complexity, as many people have incredibly strong feelings about this. Still, the way Ruth faces head-on problems and just moves on is testament to her strength. “Divorce is very painful. Most don’t do it in the public eye, with everybody having an opinion.
But that’s the nature of my job,” she says.
The candor that comes from Ruth while discussing her private life has portrayed the reality of splitting up in such a high-profile split; the ability with which she handles it inspires many.
With a glance into the future, Ruth Langsford seems to concentrate only on what would make her happy. She’s not running around to grab at anything; however, she remains open to what the future holds. In all this, she has shown that even amidst pain and public criticism, strength and resilience and hope for a new beginning can propel one forward. It is not a journey towards some other person’s validation but the search for peace within. This is also the story of Ruth Langsford: overcoming adversity, embracing the changes life is bound to bring, and proving the human spirit can rise to face even the most brutal of challenges and overcome them.
