To be feature in Amazon Prime Video documentary, King Charles is going to shine light on his life-long dedication towards the environmental cause. Filming for the project has begun, recording his charity work from UK to abroad.
King Charles is an environmental activist and has been promoting green initiatives for decades. His 2010 book, Harmony: A New Way of Looking at Our World, co-authored with Tony Juniper and Ian Skelly, looked at the relationship between humanity and nature, urging a fundamental shift in how people interact with the environment. Those themes will now be introduced to a new audience through this documentary. Buckingham Palace said the King is “keenly awaiting” to see how these concepts are brought on screen.

In a first, the Royal Family has opted for Amazon instead of the traditional choice of British broad-casters who have been getting most of its major television gigs. The lone exception so far has been Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, whose exclusive, multi-million-pound contract is with Netflix. Their 2022 docuseries, Harry & Meghan, showcased the details of their relationship and reasons for leaving royal duties. They have recently taken on an executive producing role for a Netflix documentary about Polo and Meghan launches her lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, in March. The premiere of the actress’s show was delayed due to the wildfires in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, the documentary about the King is being filmed at Dumfries House in Scotland. According to The Times, which first broke the news, several streaming platforms were considered before Amazon was selected as the distributor. The documentary is expected to be released by the end of this year or early 2026.
He had devoted much time and energy to raising awareness of climate change, the conservation of wildlife, and sustainable living during his days as Prince of Wales. He incessantly held discussions and embarked on initiatives to promote change in these areas. Now, as King, he cannot be political, but the passion for climate action remains unaffected.
He said in December 2023 at the COP28 climate summit in Dubai, “our survivability will be imperilled” unless humanity restored balance with the natural world. His message underlined the urgency of climate action and echoed concerns he has been raising for decades.
A Buckingham Palace source described the documentary as an opportunity to “show, not tell” how groundbreaking sustainability efforts can transform communities and the planet. Reflecting on the progress made since the publication of Harmony, they noted, “It’s astonishing, really, what has been put into practice over the past 15 years and how many pioneering ideas have been embraced in different ways. I think many will be genuinely amazed at the scale, scope, and vision of it all, for which Dumfries House continues to be the ‘living laboratory.'”
The documentary will offer an intimate look at Charles’ work in relation to the environmental together with a compelling visual narrative of the impact sustainable initiatives can have on creating real-world change. As the world cries for climate salvation, this particular project will serve as a source of inspiration towards calls for action through demonstration of long-term commitment to saving the environment.
