Jeremy Strong will be playing a starring part in Netflix’s new series adaptation of Ira Levin’s novel, “The Boys From Brazil,” as revealed by Variety. Peter Morgan, the creator of the hit Netflix series “The Crown,” is adapting the project. Morgan not only penned the adaptation but also will be an executive producer alongside Orchid Pictures’ Suzanne Mackie.
Netflix officials have not made any official statements regarding the series. Morgan, however, earlier revealed his work on bringing “The Boys From Brazil” to the screen in an interview with Variety in 2024. The novel, published in 1976, was famously adapted into a 1978 film starring Gregory Peck and Laurence Olivier.
The film is about Nazi hunter Yakov Liebermann, who gets a foreboding tip that notorious Dr. Josef Mengele is still alive and living incognito in Brazil. Refusing to accept anything less than the truth, Liebermann goes to the South American nation, but instead finds himself entangled in a heart-stopping conspiracy much greater than he anticipated.

As reported, Jeremy Strong will be playing Liebermann, a part originally performed by Olivier in the 1978 film. This is a major step for Strong, who is taking on his first series regular role since leaving HBO’s critically acclaimed series, “Succession.”
While on “Succession,” Strong impressed viewers with his acting skills in the character of Kendall Roy over four nail-biting seasons, winning critical and industry appreciation. His work on the series earned him an Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series, as well as three nominations in total for the category. He also won a Golden Globe Award for acting in 2022.
Outside of television, Strong has also established a very strong film career. He is now nominated for his first Academy Award for playing Roy Cohn in “The Apprentice,” co-starring with Sebastian Stan, who plays a young Donald Trump. Strong has also appeared in films like “The Big Short,” “Zero Dark Thirty,” and “Parkland.”
With a riveting premise, an experienced creative team, and Jeremy Strong as the driving force, Netflix’s “The Boys From Brazil” is already stirring up interest from viewers. With anticipation mounting, audiences will be keen to learn how Morgan and his team reboot Levin’s vintage thriller for today’s audience.
