Born Kenzie Goddard on January 9th, 2006 in Dundee, Scotland, he is a Scottish social media influencer and former Scottish Youth Parliament hopeful turned commentator who is facing backlash over his controversial comments on the subject of the UK’s migrant crisis.
When did Kenzie Goddard first gain popularity?
Goddard first gained popularity at the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020 when he started interviewing household-name celebrities by means of the ‘live’ feature on social media platforms. These quickly gained him notability and Kenzie took to conducting these interviews with celebs in person after covid restrictions has eased.
Kenzie’s history
The 19-year-old has previously sparked significant debate with commentary on topics such as Immigration, Islamic culture and Gender politics which led to his removal from what was then twitter (now X) along with his largely-followed TikTok account being suspended and removed. Supporters praised his candidness and Goddard’s critics accused him of promoting divisive rhetoric and hatred. In one video posted in 2023 that received over 2 million views and thousands of comments, Goddard stated that the United Kingdom was about to enter “dark times” and stated that British citizens are becoming “foreigners in their own country”
Goddard’s statements have been disseminated widely through platforms like TikTok and Instagram, where he has started new profiles and holds an active presence.
He also holds a presence on free-speech, social media platform GETTR where Far-right activist Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, better known as Tommy Robinson, follows him. During the coronavirus pandemic, Robinson was one of the faces to feature on Goddard’s interview roster and to no surprise, this caused backlash for both parties due to the nature of comments made from either side.
In May 2024, he caused controversy after an X user shared a photo that Goddard posted of himself with Far-right commentator, Katie Hopkins at one of her ‘Silly Cow’ Tour shows in Edinburgh, it was also pointed out by the platform user that he was wearing a T-Shirt with the words ‘RELIGION OF PEACE… MY A**!’ printed on it (pictured below) which was thought to be referencing Islam. Goddard isn’t a stranger to the political world as back in 2023, he stood in the elections for the Scottish Youth Parliament and was regularly seen uploading portfolio updates and photos with MP’s who were thought to be ‘backing’ him. Shortly before the voting closed, Kenzie took to his election-based social media pages and explained in a statement that he had been removed from the election process as a candidate. He noted that this was due to him standing up against “hateful and attacking” messages and “offensive” posts made on his personal social media pages.. Kenzie has since expressed that he is looking into further political ventures.
