A popular US reality TV personality has publicly denounced Eamonn Holmes, referring to her interview with him as the worst she has ever conducted.
Whitney Thore is best known for her starring role in TLC’s hit reality show My Big Fat Fabulous Life. She did not hesitate to speak candidly regarding her experience with the media. The show has been on the air since 2015, though it started out documenting her weight loss process and then revealed a more deeply personal search for love. At 40 years old and after 11 seasons under the spotlight, Whitney is an even popular figure for reality television.
While talking about her career, she revealed to the Daily Star that she wanted to participate in the UK-based TV shows. In reply, she did not think for a second and frankly mentioned that there was one British host whom she did not want to work with again.
“I haven’t done any UK TV shows in about 10 years, but I would gladly go on any and all of them again—except for [any with] Eamonn Holmes,” she stated emphatically.
She was candid when revisiting the incident, labelling the experience of interviewing with one of British television’s more respected presenters as the worst of her working life. However, she was keen to stress that she had enjoyed her time in the UK on the whole.
“Other than that, my experience here in the UK has always been so extremely lovely, and I love my time here so much,” she added.
Although Whitney is not satisfied with Eamonn’s interview manner, this does not mean that she dislikes other things about British media and entertainment. Whitney even confessed that a famous UK singer recently sent her an amazingly kind message.
“Just the other night, I got the nicest message from an insanely famous UK singer—I won’t disclose who just for privacy reasons, but it absolutely made my day.”
She also hinted at her fair share of memorable encounters in the entertainment industry, playfully remarking, “Of course, I’ve had some crazy showbiz encounters. But I don’t like to gossip,” adding a lighthearted touch to the conversation.
Whitney rose to fame in 2015 when a viral dance video shot her into the public eye. Since then, she has shared her life with audiences through her long-running reality show. The new season will capture pivotal moments as she navigates relationships, watches friends settle down, and continues to challenge societal stereotypes about body image.
The new season of My Big Fat Fabulous Life is set to premiere on January 17 on TLC and Discovery+.
Meanwhile, Eamonn Holmes, 65, has built a reputation as a seasoned presenter, having worked with countless high-profile figures throughout his career. However, this isn’t the first time he has found himself at the center of controversy.
One of his most widely publicized feuds was with Phillip Schofield, his former colleague on This Morning. Schofield left the show in 2023 after admitting to having lied to the public about an “unwise but not illegal” relationship with a much younger colleague. When Schofield left the show, Eamonn was quick to describe him as a “narcissist.”
Their professional history dates back to when Eamonn co-hosted This Morning alongside his then-wife, Ruth Langsford. After backing Schofield when he announced he was gay, Eamonn later said he regretted doing so and felt “used.”
Since leaving This Morning, the veteran broadcaster has taken on a new role at GB News. He joined the network in 2021 and began co-hosting a morning show with Isabel Webster in January 2022. With Isabel recently stepping away from the channel and an internal reshuffle in progress, Eamonn is now set to front a new program alongside Paul Coyte.
Despite all the controversies in the past, Eamonn is still a significant figure in the broadcasting world. Whether he will address Whitney Thore’s remarks or let them pass remains to be seen, but one thing is sure: his name will continue to make headlines.
