Roger Daltrey Takes ‘Alive And Kicking’ Solo Tour to Brighton Dome

Iconic frontman and one of the greats of The Who returns with his solo tour titled “Alive And Kicking.” He is going to the Brighton Dome, where he will present an intimate series of acoustic and semi-acoustic renditions of classic hits from both his iconic band and his extensive solo career that spans almost five decades. He continues his exciting tour leg, where the Brighton Dome will be hosting him on April 20, 2024 to give the fans a personal and very unique live experience.

He will be accompanied by a talented nine-piece band on this tour. This talented band will include the skilled Simon Townshend, who is known among the The Who fans, and he happens to be Pete Townshend’s brother, the guitarist of the same band. Together, they’ll perform new, reinterpretive versions of the best Who material and selections from Daltrey’s solo records. This tour will give new meaning to the music that fans have loved for decades and will also provide an opportunity to hear deeper cuts from the Daltrey solo repertoire.

For those who have been following Daltrey’s career, his solo way began in 1973 with a single called “Giving It All Away,” which was to score in the UK and reach number five on the charts. Since then, Daltrey has staked out a singular identity in the music world, building a solo catalogue that stands proudly alongside his work with The Who.

Sussex-based Daltrey observed: “Well here we go again! It’s fantastic finishing off the US tour with this great group of musicians, and then getting back on the road within the UK with these shows. I love it; always a delight to get up onstage and get face-to-face with them, talking to them while playing some of these old familiar songs in an unfamiliar way.”

Fans can expect the most intimate experience possible during the tour as Daltrey will now be performing some of rock’s most beloved songs in a setting that fans have never heard before: up close and personal, with the rare opportunity of glimpsing the legend in an intimate setting. Tickets for the Brighton show will go on sale this Friday at 10am and are available online at the Brighton Dome website.

One of the most distinctive voices of The Who, Daltrey has been an iconic performer on stage already; so this new chapter in his musical life will be eagerly anticipated by fans. From a long time ago in the heydays of the Who or onwards with Daltrey as he progresses with his solo work, this is something that will amuse everyone, all while bearing the much-needed vigor and spirit of one of the most influential figures in rock music.
